We’ll admit, we expected Deathchron to be just one more addition to the Ratalaika Games library; nothing more, nothing less. But watching the trailer and the intrigue levels increase. In fact, as Deathchron releases on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, we’re getting some old-school Turrican vibes.Â
And if you’ve never played Turrican before, those vibes are a good thing. It makes the release of Deathchron on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S something we are very much looking forward to playing. Even if you’re on the PlayStation or Switch side of gaming, this looks to be one to consider.Â
Save the world in Deathchron
Available right now, sitting behind a £4.99 asking price on the Xbox Store, Deathhron has you playing as a little kid, looking to set the world on a better path. With alternate realities coming to the fore, dystopian visions that need stopping, that little kid is going to have their work cut out.
Lucky then that they’ll get to help matters by taking control of a mech, becoming all-powerful, kitted out with blasters aplenty.Â
Set with an extremely retro, 8-bit artstyle, Deathchron should well appeal to many. Whether it be the old-school look, that Turrican feel, the platforming or just the chance to take on some big old bosses, there’s good reason to dive into this one.

Deathchron Description
Deathchron is a retro style arcade game full of intense platform action, powerful attacks, and menacing enemies. In the recent past, an ordinary kid receives an urgent television transmission. Our young hero is then transported to an alternate reality where robots have taken over everything, and he has one chance to stop this dystopian vision from coming true.
