A Pool Party plays out on Xbox

Summer is coming – and that means so will the pool parties. But before you get all wet in the real world, it’s time to enjoy some virtual offerings, cueing it up with Pool Party on Xbox.

Previously available on other formats and systems, Pool Party finally lands on Xbox. It’s playable from today on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S as the Lakeview Games and Mindscape teams chuck us in at the deep end. Or at least, they give us a cue and allow us the chance to line things up.

A full-on Pool Party

Pool Party is a local multiplayer game in which you’ll find yourself laughing out loud with your friends and family. Sat on the sofa, working with up to four players, expect to be treated to a chaotic, physics-based sports and brawling game; one complete with a host of game modes and options.

Having previously released on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC, should you have been casting a jealous eye the way of those having fun, then you can now also get involved on Xbox. It has you jumping in to the Pool Party resort, left to compete against others in competitive game modes like Pool, Idol, Sumo and more.

It sees you controlling your own little pool ball. Super agile and capable of moving at speed, they’ll roll and bounce around the various arenas without a care in the world. When you consider that Pool Party makes the most of the physics at play, you can guess how that will go…

Game Modes!

Those game modes include:

  • Pool: Score by kicking balls of your color into the open holes, but be careful not to fall in yourself!
  • Tennis: Either solo or in doubles, kick the ball across the court to score!
  • Sumo: No kicking allowed! Push the other players into the water by rolling into them. It’s push or be pushed!
  • Football: With one or two players on each team, shoot your ball in the opposing goal to score – or kick your opponents away to clear your path to the goal.
  • Idol: Compete to pick up and hold on to a small idol. Gain points by holding the idol – but beware: holding the idol means you can’t roll, while your opponents chase you down to knock the idol out of your hands.
  • Jinxed: One of the players is cursed! Kick, push or hit the other players to pass the curse onto them. When the timer runs out, the cursed player loses and the curse finds a new target. The last one standing wins!
  • Free-for-all: Knock your opponents into the holes and try to be the last one standing.
  • Tournament: Play a mix of all of different game modes and become the ultimate Pool Party champion!
