Knights Peak Interactive
MY.GAMES have created Knight Peak

Knights Peak Interactive is a brand new publishing label launched by MY.GAMES and it’s already got five games in its portfolio. With brand new titles and old favourites in the mix, let’s find out what’s in store for the near future.

The Amsterdam-based video game developer and publisher MY.GAMES have unveiled Knights Peak Interactive as their newest division. It’s a publishing label led by Eugenio Vitale, Mario Gerhold, and Jan-Eric Lauble, focusing on a diverse portfolio of premium PC and console games. They’ve already signed deals for upcoming releases Starship Troopers: Extermination, Nikoderiko: The Magical World, and Mandragora, as well as adding Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Blast Brigade to their back-catalogue.

Having had the privilege of getting a look at all of the aforementioned titles during a recent event, here’s everything you need to know about the Knights Peak Interactive line-up…

Starship Troopers: Extermination

Bugs! Bugs everywhere!

That was my initial impression of Starship Troopers: Extermination as hordes of bugs could be seen advancing towards base of operations. This co-op FPS appears absolutely chaotic as you’re deployed onto the front lines to take on swarms of darned bugs – or Arachnids to be specific. Heck, the remains of fallen bugs will stack up on the battlefield, adding to the carnage.

After choosing one six unique classes – Sniper, Ranger, Demolisher, Guardian, Engineer, and Medic – you must reclaim planets throughout the galaxy by annihilating the Arachnid threat alongside your squad of up to sixteen players. Get ready to use iconic weapons of the Starship Troopers franchise, which include the likes of machine guns, snipers, and even a flamethrower. The Federation bases can also provide turrets as well as a range of fortifications to help you defend your position and complete the missions.

Those looking for a solo experience won’t be disappointed either, with 25 missions being available. Furthermore, Casper Van Dien, who’s best known as Johnny Rico in the original film, will play the part of a General in-game and deliver narration to the missions. Now that’s how you bring authenticity to Starship Troopers: Extermination!

Starship Troopers: Extermination, developed by Offworld, is expected to release on 11th October for Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC.

Nikoderiko: The Magical World

Nikoderiko: The Magical World

If adrenaline-fueled shooters aren’t your thing, then maybe a cartoony platformer giving off Crash Bandicoot vibes sounds more enticing. Step forward Nikoderiko: The Magical World.

Currently in development at VEA Games, Nikoderiko: The Magical World is a rather charming jump’n’run style platformer suitable for all ages. Take on the role of Niko, a mongoose accompanied by Luna, as you embark upon a magical and mysterious quest. After the duo uncovers an ancient relic while exploring an island, the villainous Grimbald, of the Cobring Gems Company, snatches it from their grasp. Defeating the Cobring army to recover the relic is the only way to save the island and the tribes inhabiting it.

Traverse seven different, fairly vibrant, worlds featuring side-scrolling levels, chase scenes, cart rides, underwater excursions. There’s also a selection of unique boss-themed areas, with my eyes definitely seeing a giant dragon of sorts being involved at some point, which is an exciting prospect. Additionally, animal friends with unique abilities can be summoned as valuable allies and alternative methods of transport. For an extra helping hand, there’s always co-op mode to share the experience together.

Prepare to venture into Nikoderiko: The Magical World later this year on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Switch, and PC.

Mandragora

Mandragora

Now it’s time for things to take a dark turn as Primal Game Studio’s gothic offering Mandragora took centre stage.

Inspired by a trip to Ireland, Mandragora is a 2.5D side-scrolling action-RPG, Metroidvania, Souls-like game. In this rich and atmospheric world, mankind has surrendered everything to monsters and the people of Faelduum hide away behind walls made of brick and sheer ignorance, constructed by those in positions of power. Become an inquisitor and take the fight, by night, to vicious creatures in order to take back control of the world.

The path ahead will feature more than ten main quests, almost three times as many optional quests, a host of cool gameplay mechanics, secret areas, and nightmarish boss encounters. There are six character classes at your disposal with unique talent trees, a whopping 96 passive skills and over 200 active skill upgrades. Throw in the 350+ wearables, consumable, and crafting ingredients, and you can begin to understand the depth of the RPG elements in place.

The challenging, skill-driven Mandragora is slated to launch this year on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker

The penultimate game is undoubtedly a familiar one, as Owlcat Games’ Pathfinder: Kingmaker and its many iterations, joins Knights Peak Interactive.

A tribute to classics Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter Nights, Pathfinder: Kingmaker is a single-player isometric CRPG set in the world of a popular D&D type role-playing game by Paizo. Players embark upon a hand-crafted, story-driven adventure bolstered due to the rich universe of Pathfinder. Venturing through the Stolen Lands, meet with iconic characters and assemble the perfect party for tackling the various dungeons within.

Whether you establish your kingdom to bring peace amongst thy people, give hope to all, and deliver prosperity to the land, or selfishly take everything for yourself and drive it into darkness, is completely up to you.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker is available right now, in various forms, for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

Blast Brigade vs. the Evil Legion of Dr. Cread

And finally, there’s Blast Brigade vs. the Evil Legion of Dr. Cread.

Blast Brigade is a  2D metroidvania adventure that brings back memories of thrilling ‘80s action movies. Four playable characters are available, on the fly, with each possessing unique abilities to aid in progression. Get ready to have a blast in control of all-American hero Jeff, channel the deadly rage of Shura, decommission enemies as the cyborg Scotsman Galahad, and help the chakram-wielding Vortex reclaim her island.

Ultimately, you must use your platforming skills to explore, backtrack, and explore some more, through a colourful, comic book style world. There are plenty of things to find on the journey too, such as fragments of energy and health cells, skill modules and mysterious items. It will even require you to solve pretty advanced puzzles to acquire these peculiar pick-ups. Gather everything you can to save the world!

Blast Brigade vs. the Evil Legion of Dr. Cread is available for your perusal on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC.

So that’s the current, rather diverse, portfolio of Knights Peak Interactive and there’s certainly more to come. Stay tuned and be sure to let us know in the comments which of this line-up you’re most interested in.
