Akimbot – the release date is known

With the Steam Next Fest demo scene kicking off big time, there are a host of super intriguing games coming to market, with demos front and centre. One of those is Evil Raptor and PLAION‘s Akimbot. It just so happens to have nabbed a full Xbox, PlayStation and PC release date too.

Aim it up with Akimbot

From 10am PDT on June 10th you’ll be able to jump in to the demo of Akimbot, as you take on the rol of Exe; a robot outlaw who is accompanied by their little sidekick, Shipset. It’s here where you’ll be left to try and blast your way through swathes of enemies, armies of robots, controlling spaceships as best you can.

Ultimately, in Akimbot you’ll be looking to forge your own unique path, hoping to save the universe from doom in the process.

Akimbot is set in a sci-fi world, one where the only inhabitants are robots. Travelling the galaxy, enjoying some mech-y mayhem and explosive action will be par for the course.

In the demo on Steam, players’ journey will begin the way many great stories do – with a prison break. Players will need to gear up for robot mayhem, action and adventure as they play through Akimbot’s first level set in Data Bay. It will allow players to get into the nuts and bolts of the game, as they traverse through the environment, join the Data Bay locals for a dance party, complete a boss battle and test out Akimbot’s unique weapon wheel.

Coming in August

From there, you’ll need to hold tight for the full release of Akimbot. But not too long as come August 29th 2024 you’ll get to play through the adventure on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. We’ll be sure to remind you when that time comes.

For now, hit up the Steam page and enjoy the new release date trailer below. Let us know what you think by getting into the comments.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
