Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges Guide Series 35 – Summer

-

Modern Horizons is the theme for Series 35 of the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges in Forza Horizon 5. And it kicks off with Summer, as it breaks over Mexico and a whole new month of events kick off.

It is hard to predict what Modern Horizons may come to mean, as it doesn’t really mean much as a phrase, does it? Well, no matter, whatever it turns out to be I’ll still be here, dishing out suggestions of cars and tunes to get you through the weeks. No, you’re welcome!

So, without further ado, I present to you – Series 35 Summer!

Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Forefront of Innovation

Alpine are in the spotlight this week, with the 2017 A110 being the subject of this week’s weekly car challenge.

This is a reimagining of the car from the 1960s, which had something of a cult following. Can the new one match up? Well, I guess we are about to find out!

Should you not have on already, the car will cost 98.000 credits from the Autoshow

Chapter 1 – Reimagined

Get in your new car, take it for a spin. Step one complete.

Chapter 2 – Written Records

With a Nissan derived engine under the bonnet, the car isn’t shy, so we now need to win a road race. Stock trim should suffice.

I used the Oval circuit at the stadium.

Chapter 3 – Pure, Premiere, Legende

Take a photo of the car now, to capture it for posterity.

Chapter 4 – Breaking the Limits

Earn 5 Great Speed skills. Hit the highway and pin the throttle! These seem to occur above 150 mph.

Complete these tasks and we will be five points closer to the seasonal prizes that are up for grabs with Forza Horizon 5’s Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 35

Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts

With the weekly challenge done and dusted, let’s dive into the rest of the mayhem on offer.

The Trial, two Eventlabs, PR Stunts, races, who could ask for more?

The Trial – Ford of the Streets

Let’s try to race nicely, yeah?

We need a Ford from the 2010s, and the tuning limit is A Class 800. Of course, the answer to the question is usually a Mustang, and so it proves here – the Shelby GT500 from 2013 is my weapon of choice. Share code : 402868577.

Last week was pretty good, so let’s hope the racing gods smile on this week, as we attempt to win a Chevy Camaro’17.

Eventlab 1 – VEIXITY Presents Sunhaven Nightfall // Street //

We need an Extreme Track Toy tuned to S2 Class 998 for this event, and as always, it is the Bugatti Divo that gets my vote. Share code is : 169915677.

This is a hard pass from me. Who puts a 90 degree left hander straight after a jump, so you have no chance of slowing down? Why are there so many things on the edge of the track that stop you dead? It’s a no from me. And four laps of this seems like cruel and unusual punishment.

All that for a poxy Super Wheelspin.

Eventlab 2 – JOH CEE Presents Hong Akai Nightrace

I had an Akai midi system when I was younger. Just putting that out there.

For this Eventlab we need a B class 700 Nissan, and I went with a Skyline GT-R from 1993. The share code? Well, that is 135285831.

You can usually rely on JOH CEE to make a decent track, and the same is true here. It is challenging but fun, and a lot better than the other one.

Take away a Portofino ‘18 as a reward.

PR Stunt 1 – Danger Sign – Stadium Jump

This week, all the PR stunts need the same car, an S2 Class 998 car. Any car!

I went with my fave, the Koenigsegg Agera RS, share code : 109282883. Jumping over 400 m will see us take the prize.

Do so and you’ll find a Super Wheelspin heading your way in return.

PR Stunt 2 – Speed Trap – Caballo Blanco

With this being an off road trap, it is only right to let the BMW X5M FE out to play. The share code for mine is : 519084427.

Hit the trap at over 160 mph to succeed.

Another Super Wheelspin awaits.

PR Stunt 3 – Speed Zone – Watersplash.

Keeping in the same car for this event, this time we need to average over 95 mph.

Yet another Super Wheelspin – lovely!

Seasonal Championship 1 – Rally and Camaro-raderie

Pun writers on form this week, eh?

We need to use a Chevy Camaro, tune it to S1 Class 900 and then go off road racing. What could go wrong?

For winning out, we can take home a Deberti F-150.

Seasonal Championship 2 – Round the Clock

Let’s get rocking! (see what I did there?)

We need to grab a car from the 2010s, tuned to S1 Class 900. I went with a Ferrari 812 Superfast from 2017, and the share code is : 261040765.

The prize for winning is a Range Rover’15.

Seasonal Championship 3 – Kitty Cat, Toy Track

Believe it or not, we need a Track Toy tuned to S1 Class 900 for this event. Of the vast choice, I went with a Porsche 911 GT2 RS from 2012, share code : 129256081.

We can take home a Dodge Charger from 2015 for winning out.

Part 3: Other Challenges

There’s always more to get involved in than just the racing, and that is the case again this week with Series 35, as Summer comes to the fore. You’ve got a photo to take, a Treasure Hunt, Horizon Arcade and that is your lot.

Photo Challenge – #MORGANMURAL

Take a photo of a Morgan at CIX’s mural in San Sebastian. What could be easier?

Enjoy my artistic effort up at the top of this piece. The location you need to be in is below.

The reward? A new Forzalink phrase, “World’s Fastest!”.

Treasure Hunt – Birdspotting

The clue reads “With birds as their logo, lets see how far they go, a dangerous game but 10 stars is the aim!”.

The photo shows an old Bentley heading for a danger sign, so that bit is easy to understand!

Score ten stars at danger signs. I used a Bentley Blower 4.5 litre from 1930, share code : 270547624. It’s quicker than it looks!

The location of the Treasure Chest is shown below, and it contains 100 FP.

Horizon Arcade – Mini Games

Now we need to complete all three stages of any Horizon Arcade. You know, drift, speed, chaos, wreckage or air. Drift is the best, obviously. It always has been, and it always will be.

I can’t give you a tune for this, as it could be anything, but just go along for the ride!

As a reward, we can get a whole 3 points to the totals. Bit stingy, I think…

Part 4: Hot Wheels Events

If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.

Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Zone – Treetops

We need to grab an S2 Class 998 car, any car, and do some average speed driving.

I went with my favourite, the Koenigsegg Agera RS, share code : 109282883.

The target is 180 mph on average. This is known in the trade as “pretty brisk”.

The prize is another Super Wheelspin. I stopped counting at 85…

Seasonal Championship – Holden onto your Hats

A Japanese car, tuned to A Class 800 is required here, and I chose the Toyota GR Supra. Share code for mine is : 984217186.

Completing the championship will get us a Holden Maloo, as you may have guessed.

Part 5: Rally Adventure Events

The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to the following couple of events…

Seasonal PR Stunt – Drift Zone – Joya Marron

Anything Goes and S2 Class 998 are the limits here, and as always, if it is a bit of sliding about, a stock Hoonigan Hoonicorn is the answer.

We need to score over 105,000 drift points to win.

A Super Wheelspin is your reward.

Seasonal Championship – Shiver Up My Spine

Modern Muscle cars and A Class 800 means it is time for a Mustang – but not just any Mustang, the Shelby GT500 from 2013, share code : 402868577.

The reward for racing? A Hot Wheels Bone Shaker. See what they did there?

The rewards for Series 35 and Summer in Forza Horizon 5

With Series 35 just starting out, the road to the new cars for the month has just begun. And they are the KIA EV6 GT for 80 points and a Raesr TS for 160 points.

Even more Rivals circuits have now been added with Series 35, but a reduced number – only 2 this month. San Juan Scramble for real engines, and Linea Costera Sprint for battery powered cars. Post a clean lap on each to score 4 whole points towards the prize cars.

Grab enough points and Series 35 Summer also sees you given access to the exclusive Ford Dark Horse for 20 points. Additionally, for 40 points we can get a Porsche MissionR, a hard to find car apparently. Ironically, I have just bought a LEGO model of the Dark Horse! Yes, I’m a 51 year old bloke who likes LEGO, what of it?

Stay tuned at the same time next week for the rest of Series 35 to play out. I’ll give you the best tunes and cars to help with the challenges on offer in Autumn, Winter and Spring.

To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5. It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.

Let us know in the comments if I have helped, hindered or missed the mark with these tunes.
