Antstream Arcade’s Latest Additions Will Test Your Skills and Your Stomach

-

Still pounding that Antstream Arcade subscription for all it’s worth? You’re in luck as two more games land on the service.

The Antstream team have been on full power in recent weeks, delivering some retro classics to players across the globe. If you’ve not dived in and played Super Turrican yet or The Way of the Exploding Fist, then you don’t know what you’re missing.

Today is all about another couple of additions to the retro library and they come in the form of BurgerTime and Alien Rampage. There’s also an additional challenge to get involved in too – taking place in Gun Force (Arcade), with the A Force To Reckon With test.

The biggest focus are the new games though. Fancy either of these?

Alien Rampage

Alien Rampage – now on Antstream

2D horizontal platformer shooter that first released on DOS back in 1996 by Inner Circle Creations, anyone? That’s what you’re getting in Alien Rampage.

Heavy on gore and mindless action, you’ll take on the role of an alien who is out for revenge against bloodthirsty mutants after their spaceship crashes. Climb, fight and solve puzzles through more than twenty large levels of action, equipping a variety of ultra-lethal weapons against more than 30 different types of adversary.

Exciting action and clever puzzles? Yeah, Alien Rampage is not one to miss.

BurgerTime

BurgerTime – get cooking on Antstream

Having originally released in the arcades in 1982, launching as Hamburger in Japan, BurgerTime came to multiple platforms in the coming years. It all revolves around Peter Pepper, a chef charged with moving around a single screen level. It’s here where platforms and ladders come to the fore, as you need to try and go constructing hamburgers, while avoiding enemy foods.

In BurgerTime you’ll get to walk across one of the giant burger ingredients, such as the patty or lettuce, and see the ingredient drop to the bottom of the screen. Each level is finished once the burgers have been completed. Enemy foods, hot dogs, pickles and eggs, can be crushed by the falling burger ingredients, and Peter can stun these enemies with his cloud of pepper.

We remember playing BurgerTime to death back in the day (or at least a clone that was very very similar) and it comes to Antstream with six increasingly difficult levels for players to enjoy.

What is Antstream?

“There is always something new to discover on Antstream, and this week’s new titles are varied enough to both offer something very different. The familiar arcade action of BurgerTime is deceptively tricky, while the large levels and interesting puzzles of Alien Rampage will give players plenty to work on. Both titles are a welcome addition to the expansive Antstream library of retro games” – Steve Cottam, CEO of Antstream.

Not familiar with Antstream Arcade? It’s available on Xbox, PC, mobile and more, as the world’s largest collection of retro titles. There are upwards of 1300 to enjoy, and so you’d do well to hit up the Xbox Store (or the other digital stores) and grab a download. You can either take in a 12-month sub for £29.99, or a lifetime of retro joy for £79.99

Let us know which you decide on – and which of the new games you’ll be playing first. Will it be BurgerTime or Alien Rampage? Comments, below.
